“Godly Sorrow”: New Words for Your Joy

Without the Word of God put to work on our hearts, sin has no opposition in us. Only by God’s power through the Word are we given saving help and strength to struggle with sinful ways inside of us. Listen to how the apostle Paul finds joy even in a ministry that brings mental pain and troubles consciences. Why? He calls it “godly sorrow.” It does no true harm. It leaves no regret. And in the end he rejoices to see the sinner’s ultimate healing in Christ.
