LIVING SAVIOR. LIVING HISTORY.

Your story begins and ends with the living God. We hope this page helps you get started with opportunities to explore and ask questions.

Have you noticed that “new opportunities”, “second chances” and “fresh starts” in life don’t last that long? It’s a tell-tale sign we live in a “here today, gone tomorrow” world.

Try something “new” that actually lasts. “The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the Word of the Lord endures forever.” God is not old or outdated. He is alive. In Jesus, we all have a living Savior, and God gave us his Word to tell us so.

So we bring our sins to Jesus for living forgiveness. And we bring our doubts and questions to his enduring Word, which is the basis for this class.

Come to learn more about the Bible.

Learn about Christianity and the Living Savior we share.

Also, this class provides an overview of the Bible’s teachings and serves as a new member class at Living Savior.

Living Savior

Lutheran Church

He Speaks.
We Stand.

We are a biblical people who build our faith and life on the saving message of God's own words.

He Forgives.
We Rejoice.

We are a Lutheran church that proclaims forgiveness for all through Jesus Christ.

He Loves.
We Love.

The love of Jesus compels us. His love for the whole world inspires all of our relationships.

He Lives.
We Live.

To live is Christ, to die is gain. Whether we live or die, we belong to the living God as a forever family for Jesus' sake.

Chris Esmay

Pastor

Meet Pastor Chris Esmay

Christopher Esmay is serving as Living Savior's pastor. Chris grew up in a family that was at one time unchurched. "I remember a Methodist church in Broomfield, CO. I remember Center of Hope, a non-denominational private school, for 2nd and 3rd grade. Then my parents somehow found Shepherd of the Valley, a WELS church and school in Westminster, CO. I was baptized in the 4th grade.

Who would ever have thought I would serve as a pastor in that church body? For 52 years, over and again I have demonstrated I don't deserve his kindness to me. I truly don't. You'd say the same.

In 1998, I was married to Kerri Marion, God's gift to me of a wonderful helper, who time and again has demonstrated in her words and actions the Savior's gracious heart for this undeserving sinner. In 2000, I was assigned to serve St. Paul in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, where our children were born. Our son, Drew, is studying to become a pastor. Our daughter, Hannah, is a teacher and director-in-training in North Carolina. We have served churches in Louisiana, Kansas, Wisconsin and Texas.

It is a privilege to be called by the Lord through you to provide you with what the Lord has entrusted to me, clarity on what he thinks and says into the categories of life and the matter above every matter. And I know I will learn much from you, how his words and his help have held you together through some tough challenges. Proof is you are here.

"Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners" (1 Timothy 1:15).

No words have changed us more than those."

Established in 1995

Living Savior Lutheran Church began exploratory mission work in the Littleton area in 1995. Our focus is to share the good news of all God’s perfect gifts through Jesus.

Through a variety of efforts to build bridges to the community we hope to make connections that many more may hear about what a great God we have. We also aim to grow together as a family of supporters and encouragers in knowing, confessing and expressing God’s love.

The mission work that began here in the 1990s and continues today at Living Savior Lutheran Church was initiated by our national church body, the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
